Greensboro Summer Reading Trail

What is it?

The Greensboro Summer Reading Trail is a free community program designed to encourage reading while giving families a fun activity to enjoy together during the summer months.

Local businesses serve as stops along the “Reading Trail.” At each location, families will find a children’s book to read together. After visiting, a staff member stamps the family’s Reading Trail Map, and participants work to collect stamps from locations across the city.

The 2026 Reading Trail will run June 1 – July 31.

At the end of the program, families who visit 12 or more of the 22 stops will be entered into a grand prize drawing, which includes books and four passes to the Greensboro Science Center and Carousel, plus other fun prizes. In addition, every child who completes their map will receive a free book prize. Prizes will be distributed at our community book fair at Arboro Empowered, held during the week of August 3–8.

Please consult each business website or social media for business hours. Please note Joyful Pediatrics will ONLY be open for story time Tuesdays from 6-7pm and Thursdays from 10-11am.
